I never really went in depth about my first shoot in March. The whole experience was something I will never forget and hope to do much more with the people I really enjoy. I will never forget Alli E.
So on the morning I got to Alli's house, it was a little bit of a slow start. I took a few practice shots of the dogs fooling around and caught part of the table with my make-up spread on it that I cropped, as seen above. Alli helped in the make-up process. I asked her what kind of look she was going for because the shoot was for the both of us, my hobby and her hubby.
We ended up going to the gas station to pick up rum and coke to get Alli loose enough to be comfortable with a camera in her face. There was also a need to run to See & Save, the local thrift store, to see what we could come up with for props. Most of the outfits we chose were all on a whim. Whatever Alli felt, she did, and I just flowed with it.
During the shoot at her house, we would take breaks and I captured the little doggy gang that was forming outside Alli's house. Tiki and Alli's two black sibs were doing their thing while Alli and I did ours.
At one point we were taking photos of her sitting on an end table in front of a mirror, and the table she was on, shattered. We had a good buzz so it made us burst out, but fortunately she had a blanket under her and did not receive any injuries. Needless to say, it did not hinder our day, and the shoot continued.
When we ran out of ideas in her house, we drove to Teton Canyon (five miles away) and took photos by the first boulder we came across, trudging a pathway in three feet of snow with mixed drinks in our coffee mugs. Tiki, Ebony and Gizmo led the way and scampered through the snow exploring while Alli and I worked.
At the end, Tiki was covered in snowballs and felt a couple pounds heavier. He was standing in my back window, kicking out his back legs like he was going to flick of all the snow. It was the cutest thing, he would grunt and kick out his back legs, but the snow was staying.
I had a great time and swore to Alli we would take a second photo shoot. We ended up getting together about two weeks later and had a little less fun, but came out with a few of my favorite photos of her. I'll be updating with those soon. For now I will leave you with this.
